Winter Exhibition 20/21 Award Winners

Thanks for Sharing!

When we launched our first online exhibition last year, I expected a few entries from friends and family and perhaps a few others… what actually happened was hundreds of entries from all around the world! I was blown away by the quantity, but more importantly, by the quality of the work that was submitted. I also really appreciated the diversity, both in the artists exhibiting, and in the medium of their work.

As I curated the exhibition, focusing on the overall theme of “hope”, four thematic strains began to emerge; connection between people and community, an affinity with nature, resilience, and the future.

In the year the Covid pandemic hit the world, all four of these things seem poignant, and for me their presence in the exhibition, and indeed in all our lives, were and are essential.

Within the exhibition you are able to virtually walk through 8 rooms, each carefully curated to gently highlight these aspects. Each room provides a different atmosphere, some filled with light, some with bursts of vivid colour, others are quieter but showcasing fine details, another is dotted with peaceful symbolism. If you haven’t had a chance to browse the exhibition, you can do so here, and feel free to let me know what you think.
