Artist Bio:
A self-taught artist, my media of choice watercolors and ink, but I don’t want to be constrained by one medium. I prefer to let the subject I am painting inspire what paper and medium I use. When I paint, the world around me goes away and I am totally at peace with myself (and having many life tragedies) – this is why I paint. I primarily paint people, animals and nature landscapes; these are the things that inspire me. I love to look at a photograph of a person and try to interpret and tell their story through my painting. I also want to push the boundaries of what people consider beautiful and show that we all are beautiful in our own light. One thing is for certain, being able to explore my art as a second career has made me appreciate every minute of my journey and I look forward to seeing what the future holds.

Work Exhibited:
‘When I Create’

Spring is a great time to discover something that makes you passionate. For me, its when I create. Although I usually paint in jeans, Birkenstocks and a t-shirt in my mind when I create I look glamourous. I think taking the time to explore my art and allowing myself to feed my creative soul is what keeps me grounded and balanced. I think it is so important for people to slow down and explore at least one thing that makes them passionate. This mixed media piece utilizes collage, painting and ink and shows me exploring my passion of painting.

‘Big Bluffs and Red Canoe’  $650

Spring is a great time to get outside and make great discoveries. For me, one of my favorite things to explore is the Buffalo National River in Arkansas. I am so lucky to have the Buffalo River in my backyard. The Buffalo River has amazing clear blue water and fantastic colored bluffs, caves, waterfalls and abundant wildlife. My favorite way to explore the Buffalo River is in my red canoe.
