Hayden Smith - USA - 8 years old

Artist Bio:

From Hayden’s parent: I taught Hayden and his twin sister how to shoot a Holga 120 film camera this past summer (2020), as something to keep them busy during COVID-19. As  a photographer myself, I showed them not only how to shoot film but how to develop and process it as well. For this image, Hayden got really excited when I told him he could do more than one exposure on each negative frame. Hayden shot our front yard and house and then overlaid another exposure of a close-up of our front flower bed. Hayden titled this photograph ‘Summer’.

Olivia Smith - USA - 8 years

Artist Bio:

From Olivia’s parent: I taught Olivia and her twin brother how to shoot a Holga 120 film camera this past summer (2020), as something to keep them busy during COVID-19. As  a photographer myself, I showed them not only how to shoot film but how to develop and process it as well. Olivia wanted to take photographs of our dogs. We had lost one of our dogs to cancer in April so Olivia wanted to capture our remaining dogs in photographs so she had something to remember them by. She chose to title this photograph ‘Dashy in the Long Grass’.
