Zwolle, The Netherlands
Artist Bio:
I’m a 22 year old Illustration student form The Netherlands. Before I started this study, I’ve finished my art teacher degree. I would love to become an (book)illustrator and combine this with printmaking and giving workshops. The graphic techniques have played an important role trough all of my work. I love the surprising outcomes and the non-mechanized way of working. It makes the work spontaneous and personal. I hope to inspire people to have a closer look at the world around them. I want to make the things – that people see as ordinary – special. I play with different perspectives, light and darkness.
Work Exhibited:
‘Messy Attic’
50.5 cm X 58.5 cm
It’s a unique print: 1/1.
Empty spaces with no direct life forms in them, intrigue me. The spaces may be empty, but that doesn’t mean they’re lifeless. Shadows come to live, the darkness seems to be moving and lost objects can be found. Spaces, and especially abandoned ones, give the opportunity to explore and discover. It’s like playing hide and seek with the past.
