Artist Bio:
Patricia Rhodes started focusing on her life long interest in art when she retired in 2012, taking painting and drawing classes at the Cheltenham School of Fine Art with teachers Viv Ayres and Jayne Tricker. She also completed a course at the Norfolk School of oil painting with Martin Kinnear.
In October 2018 she moved to Watchet in North West Somerset, a little harbour town on the edge of the Quantock hills and close to Exmoor, where she has a small garden studio and paints for pleasure, mostly in oils, taking inspiration from the colours of the natural world.

Work Exhibited:
Blue Sky Dreaming
The painting is from a view of Blue Anchor Bay as it winds along the North West Somerset coastline, and a path towards the seaside town of Minehead. The colours here are often sombre and grey but some days the blues, rich earth tones and mauve glimmers in the water are surprising. In this picture these colours, reminiscent of sunnier climes have been accentuated as a statement of optimism.
