Lego Sense – Home Education Workshops

Lego Sense Home Education Workshops

We are so excited to say our regular workshops on Wednesday afternoons in Torrington are back in January. The two hour long workshops are deigned especially for home educated children; giving them time, space and creative freedom to work on their engineering projects in their own ways. Like all our sessions, Nick will guide and encourage our young people through the workshops; ensuring that all the participants are developing a good understanding of the concepts and engaging in the practical activities.

We host a mixed aged group, aimed at 5-16 year olds who want to engage with practical, hands on engineering skills and concepts, whilst having loads of fun. The mixed age group means siblings can come together, and children can learn from each other in lots of different ways! Read more information below.

Our sessions have been running since 2019 in schools, as after school clubs, holiday clubs and stand alone sessions. We also offer team building events, birthday parties, and bespoke workshops.

For younger children, Lego Sense is a hands on, practical, creative and fun session, where children are guided by Nick, our STEAM coordinator and qualified engineer! Our young engineers get to explore all sorts of concepts and ideas from science, technology, engineering, art, design, maths and more… All by building Lego! These sessions also aim to boost well being, self esteem, confidence, communication and teamwork.

In addition , for older children, the sessions aim to enrich young people’s existing knowledge, skills and creative thinking in an informal manner. Nick, will support our young people as they navigate engineering challenges and concepts, develop critical thinking and problem solving, and meet like minded budding engineers!

The sessions are relaxed, but structured, and Nick will guide and encourage the children through the engineering activities, whilst giving plenty of time and freedom to explore their creativity and building!
